Some places have a way of slowing time down. Torre Uluzzo, on the beautiful coastline of Salento in Puglia, is one of them.
A few days before their wedding, Ilenia and Saverio, a couple from Reggio Emilia, asked me if we could create something special before their big day. They had chosen Puglia as the place where they would celebrate their destination wedding, surrounded by family, friends, and the incredible landscapes that make this region one of the most beautiful wedding destinations in Italy.
Instead of waiting for the wedding day, we decided to meet at sunset for an intimate pre wedding photoshoot at Torre Uluzzo.
Why Torre Uluzzo is one of the most beautiful locations in Puglia
Located inside the Porto Selvaggio Natural Park, Torre Uluzzo is one of those hidden corners of Salento that perfectly represents the authentic soul of southern Italy.
There are no crowded city streets or famous monuments here. Instead, you'll find dramatic limestone cliffs, Mediterranean vegetation, crystal-clear waters, and endless views over the Ionian Sea. As the sun begins to set, everything turns into warm shades of gold, creating the perfect atmosphere for natural and emotional photographs.
For couples planning a destination wedding in Puglia, Torre Uluzzo is an incredible location for an engagement session or pre wedding photoshoot.
A relaxed experience before the wedding
One of the biggest advantages of a pre wedding session is that it allows couples to forget about the camera before the wedding day.
There is no timeline to follow, no guests waiting, and no pressure. It's simply an opportunity to walk together, enjoy the landscape, and create genuine memories.
That is exactly what happened with Ilenia and Saverio.
We spent the evening exploring the coastline, stopping whenever the light became magical. There was no posing, no complicated directions, just natural moments that reflected who they are.
By the end of the session, they were completely relaxed. When the wedding day arrived, being photographed felt natural, allowing them to fully enjoy every moment.
Why choose Puglia for your destination wedding
Every year, more couples decide to celebrate their wedding in Puglia, and it's easy to understand why.
From centuries-old olive groves to whitewashed villages, historic masserie, dramatic coastlines, and some of the most breathtaking sunsets in Italy, Puglia offers an extraordinary variety of landscapes within short driving distances.
Whether you're planning an intimate elopement, a luxury destination wedding, or a multi-day celebration with family and friends, this region provides unforgettable settings for both your wedding and your photographs.
Adding a pre wedding session is also a wonderful way to discover the area before the celebration while creating meaningful memories in a completely different atmosphere.
Documentary photography that tells your story
My approach has always been simple.
I don't believe in forcing emotions or creating artificial moments. I prefer to let couples experience the day naturally while I quietly document everything as it unfolds.
Whether it's a destination wedding in Puglia, an intimate elopement in Italy, or a sunset engagement session along the Salento coast, my goal is always the same: creating timeless images that feel honest years from now.
Ilenia and Saverio's session at Torre Uluzzo perfectly reflects this philosophy. Just two people, an extraordinary landscape, and the beautiful anticipation of everything that was about to happen a few days later.
